5So far - AWESOME!!
By BunnyMom
I just received this today and right away, set it up to charge in the sun. It was working great but wouldn't you know it, we had thunderstorms roll in within 20 minutes!! So I grabbed it and walked inside then plugged it in to a wall socket. Once it was charged, I charged my cell phone and it was FAST! Now I'm charging my iPad while I'm actually using it and it's working great at bringing that percentage number up. Tomorrow, hopefully I'll have a chance to put the solar panel to full use to recharge the battery. ** It is now "tomorrow" and I was able to put it in the sun from about 1 pm until 6 pm and it brought the charge up two bars. Yesterday, I also charged my husband's iPod Touch, my Kindle and my daughter's iPod and even with all of those charges, I still had 4 of 7 bars of power!! Now after 4 hours in the sun, I'm back up to 6 bars. This charger rocks!! **

What a great package this is! It comes with plugs for all over the world and then it comes with the small plugs to be able to plug in almost anything to charge. We went through all of our electronics and there is a tip for each one. This will be SO great this summer when we live on our sailboat where power is at a premium. This charger is mine and now I won't have to worry about draining the "house" battery for my iPad. I'll have access to my OWN power! GREAT!!! It comes in a case that will hold everything and keep it safe since it's a hard-sided case. No question, this was exactly what I was looking for!

Editing in Aufust, 2012 - we are now heading home after being away on the sailboat for over two weeks. I can now say that this solar charger will be a staple on our trips. When it was daylight and not raining, I kept the charger out in the sun and never wanted for power, even on cloudy days. My husband's iPod Touch wasn't holding a charge well so he used it quite a bit and all of the rest of the electronics were charged regularly. I never went below three bars even when it rained for two days and everything had to be charged. Hands down, one of the best investments I've ever made.

5Keeps the Power Going
By Matt Clark - Damang Meda
I was looking for a charger that would keep my iPad and iPod going while in the back-country and this was the one that looked it may do the job.

I just took it on a 10 day canoe trip and it charged my iPad once and my iPod twice and also charged the iPod of someone else in our group twice on a single charge. The battery pack still had enough juice to charge my iPad again if needed. I did not have to even pull the solar panels out to recharge the battery pack which was a good thing as we only had two days of sun in the 10 day trip.

Great power source!

5Great Performance during Hurricane Sandy Power Outages
By T. Diffley
We were without power for 11 days in NW New Jersey in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy - ordered PowerMonkey Extreme from Akari on Amazon on Day 3 - arrived on Day 6 and used for the next five (5) days without power with great performance. Appreciate vendor Akari getting the unit shipped-out so fast as it enabled us to charge our iPhone/iPad right out of the box and re-charged via solar over the next days. Frankly never thought I'd need/want a solar-powered charger but during Sandy the combination of Solar-powered charger + battery unit became a necessity. Many thanks to Akari for their customer service and fast shipping, and to Powertraveller for a fantastic product...
