It only works if the power cable is also connected

I already knew this since I previously watched a video review, but I bought it anyways.
In order to make the adapter work you have to:
- Connect your tablet to the adapter
- Connect your hdmi cable to the adapter and to the tv
- Connect the power cable to the adapter as well (I think this should not be required).
In other words, it works fine (at least for a Galaxy Note 10.1), it only has the disadvantage of requiring the power cable connected. I also think is a little bit expensive.

Essential for television viewing.

Now I can view NetFlix on my television. I have a subscription for streaming NetFlix only. Essentially, with this adapter you will be able to see and hear anything that is on your Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet. I have used it a lot already. Yesterday there was not signal. I needed to reboot the tablet. Actually needed to be powered off.
Be sure to pay attention to other online comments here about this device because the instructions that arrive with it are in Korean - so not much help.
You must have the charger connected to it. The device itself connects to your tablet and to an HDMI cable. You will need another HDMI cable too. I have temporarily stolen the cable from my DVD player to use for this device. I should have ordered another cable when I ordered this - word to the wise. And since Samsung has us in a little vise here with their proprietary connector - this device is pricey - but it does work as promised. HDMI is great technology. I am amazed at the sound quality.

Another apple ?

Why would this little proprietary adapter so expensive and twice more than proprietary Ipad4's adapter? Worse, it needs to plug in to power in order to use. This is as expensive as the Allshare wireless dongle and only slightly lower than Samsung BluRay player with AllShare. $70 for an adapter ??!! This cable is 16% or 23%(List Price) of the Samsung Note 10.1 price I paid for. Samsung, you have problem with you marketing department.
